Jack Vettriano’s new exhibition has hit the road.It starts in his home town of Kirkcaldy, Fife before going to London and Milan. The exhibition has been setting attendance records as Scottish fans flock to see his paintings. Three new limited edition prints have been published – days of Wine and Roses, Mystery man and Only the deepest red II.

Mags bags a Banksy – secret Madonna birthday present

Guy Ritchie has decided that the material girl, aka his old lady Madonna, should get a Banksy for her upcoming birthday this week. Ritchie has commissioned Banksy to produce something special. Madonna is supposed to be a big Banksy fan – well at least until she sees this latest effort by him .

The Singing Butler retrospective goes on sale

A new version of an old favourite , The Singing Butler (retrospective), goes on sale at auction this month. Jack Vettriano produced the painting in an hour during a master class at St Andrews University. Now the university is about to benefit from the soaring value of the artist’s work by selling the 15in by 12in picture on 26 August.Proceeds from the sale will go to the St Andrews Students Charities Campaign, which supports a range of local, national and international causes. Andre Zlattinger, senior director and head of Scottish art at Sotheby’s, said:  ”The sketch captures one of Jack’s most iconic images and will, I’m sure, have huge appeal to collectors around the world.”  Photogold art gallery

Photogold affordable art – 10th anniversary

The big day is approaching for Photogold affordable art – it celebrates its 10th anniversary online in September . The world and the internet was a very different place 10 years ago. You went online with a dial-up connection – ie slow , slow , slow. Broadband didn’t exist and Google was just an idea in some student’s head . Once Google appeared it was easy to get thousands of visitors to your site just by being online .Most businesses did not have a website.

Robin Gunningham and Banksy – who’s who ?

Photogold can exclusively reveal that the real name of famous tagger  Banksy is Robin Gunningham … possibly. The Sunday papers are full of revelations of Banksy’s real name. None of them are very convincing so Banksy’s identity is destined to remain an urban myth , for the moment anyway. Who cares as long as we can enjoy his child like efforts?  Say what you like , but originality is not one of tagger Banksy’s strongpoints. Still , he’s laughing all the way to the Banksy

Photogold online art gallery

Photogold online art gallery was the first online art gallery in the UK. It was set up 10 years ago to promote the work of Jack Vettriano and Beryl Cook. Jack Vettriano is best known for his images the Singing Butler . The painting sold for £750,000 a couple of years ago. Other images by Vettriano include the Game of Life, Night and the City. Along came a Spider and Parlour of Temptation. Beryl Cook has made a career out of painting fat ladies out on the town. Victoria Wood described her work as Reubenesque. Banksy is the urban artist , tagger or graffiti artist who is the hottest artist in the UK at the moment. His works include Grin Reaper and Toxic Mary
